Meet the Team

Beth Long, PhD, BCBA, LPC

Testing, Counseling, ABA, and PFC

Beth Long received her PhD in Counseling Psychology from Capella University and her Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology from Chapman University.  She is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Board-Certified Behavior Analyst. As a military wife, Beth has had the opportunity to work in six unique clinical environments across the country for more than 20 years.  Her favorite part of her work is identifying skill deficits because she believes that when people know better, they do better.  Once the deficits are defined, she enjoys empowering her clients to be all that God has created them to be.

Karson Whatley, MA, BCBA

ABA and PFC

Karson Whatley is a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst who was born and raised here in Montgomery, AL. After graduating from high school, Karson joined the Marine Corps Reserves as he worked towards obtaining his bachelor’s degree in counseling psychology from Liberty University. Upon graduating, he took a job as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT). This was his first exposure to Applied Behavior Analysis and he loved every minute of it! To step into his current role, Karson earned a master’s in Applied Behavior Analysis in 2021 from Ball State University. Karson values creating an individualized approach to each situation.  He enjoys the structure and science of ABA because it has given him the confidence and the tools to help every family, even those in extremely difficult situations.  

Symone Webster, MA, BCBA

ABA

Symone graduated from Troy University with her Bachelor of Psychology in 2018. She was introduced to the field of ABA in 2019 after accepting her first job as a Registered Behavior Technician. She immediately fell in love with the field and pursued her master’s in Applied Behavior Analysis at the University of Cincinnati. She is currently working on her second master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at the University of West Alabama. Symone enjoys helping children and families reach their full potential using behavioral science. Upon graduating, she hopes to offer more testing services to the Wiregrass area. 

Denise Burgos, MS, M.Ed., ALC

Testing and Counseling | Clinical Psychology

Denise completed her B.S. in Criminal Justice at South University and her first master’s degree in Psychology in 2020 and her second master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Auburn University at Montgomery. Denise is an Associate Licensed Counselor, and she joined the Works of Wonder family in 2022. Within the Works of Wonder family, she provides client-focused, evidence-based psychotherapy, and psychological assessment services. Her interests are in children and adolescents with internalizing and externalizing disorders. In addition, she has a special interest in juvenile justice. Denise is deeply passionate about providing treatment to all people and serving families in the local community.

Chloe Miller-Rhodes, M.Ed., ALC, NCC

Testing and Counseling | Clinical Psychology

Chloe graduated from Auburn University of Montgomery with her bachelor’s degree in Psychology in 2020. Due to her passion for the field, she immediately pursued her master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and graduated in 2023. She is Nationally Board Certified and is certified in Interpersonal and Social Rhythm Therapy, which is an effective and science-based approach for individuals with Bipolar Disorder and other mood dysfunctions. Chloe specializes in psychological and developmental testing for people over the age of 2.  Her goal as a counselor is to view the “whole” client and create a safe environment where people can safely share and recognize dysfunctional patterns in a comfortable setting. She also encourages each client to create their own healthy biological and social routines. Her clinical interests include trauma, anxiety, ADHD, and personal growth. Chloe is motivated by helping clients navigate their own barriers, strengths, and capabilities. She enjoys working with individuals of all ages but has a special passion for teens and young adults!

Karsyn Kemsel, BS, RBT

ABA

Karsyn Kemsel was introduced to the field of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) in the spring of 2021. She quickly fell in love with the field.  Karsyn graduated with her bachelor’s in psychology with a minor in ABA in 2022. Currently, Karsyn is in the ABA graduate program at Ball State University and will graduate in May of 2025. She plans to sit for the Board-Certified Behavior Analyst exam shortly after she graduates. Her favorite thing about the field is being able to experience the positive impact she makes in the lives of her clients and their families. Her favorite thing about her work is helping her clients learn new skills so that she can see positive behavior changes.

Liz Sims, RBT

Elizabeth Sims (Liz) joined the staff of Works of Wonder Therapy in the summer of 2021 as a registered behavior technician (RBT). She loves making a difference in the lives of her clients and their families. Her specialties are teenagers and social skills groups. She is motivated by the smiles of her clients as she helps them overcome challenges. She grew up in Montgomery, AL and graduated from Eastwood Christian School.  She draws a lot of inspiration from her time at Eastwood and Troy University to help children reach their goals.

Megan Carmack, MS, ALC

Megan graduated from Troy University of Montgomery with her bachelor’s in psychology in 2020. Megan pursued her master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and graduated in 2023. She also has an Addiction and Substance Use Related Disorder Graduate Certificate. Megan’s goal as a counselor is to provide a safe space for individuals to discover and be themselves. Her clinical interests include family stress, anxiety, depression, trauma, self-awareness, and personal growth. She enjoys working with individuals of all ages but has a special passion for pre-teens and teens. She is motivated by the difference she has been able to make in the lives of her clients.

Gabrielle McKinney, BS

Gabrielle McKinney is the Practice Manager at Works of Wonder Therapy. Gabbi graduated from Colorado Christian University with a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice. Her background in Law and Criminal Justice have led her to a love for understanding the “why” behind the decisions we make as individuals. Gabrielle is currently pursuing her master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Liberty University. Gabbi hopes to one day counsel and guide people as they make decisions and tap into all that God has in store for them.

Rachel Mitchell, Graduate Intern

Rachel Mitchell was raised in Wetumpka, AL and graduated high school from Alabama Christian Academy. She then obtained a bachelor’s degree in Psychology with a minor in Human Development and Family Studies from Auburn University. Rachel first began working with us as a Registered Behavioral Technician (RBT) in early 2023 and has since moved into the role of assisting with psychological and developmental testing. Rachel is currently pursuing her master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Liberty University, and she will begin offering counseling services in January of 2025. Her favorite aspects of this work are the connections that she makes with each client and having the opportunity to expand her knowledge of the many different areas within the field of counseling psychology. Utilizing a caring and empathetic approach, Rachel strives to create a safe space for each individual to feel comfortable being themselves to provide the best care possible.

Brian Dill, Graduate Intern

Brian Dill is a graduate intern from Faulkner University and is currently working towards his Associate License in Counseling.  He graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology from the University of Alabama wanting to pursue a career as a Strength and Conditioning Coach for young athletes. After some time and soul searching, Brian decided he wanted to become a mental health counselor. Brian has always loved helping others through the hard times in their life and decided he not only wanted to help others with their physical health, but also their emotional and mental well-being. Brian has experience as a youth and adult counselor and was a Mobile Crisis Case Manager for Northwest Alabama Mental Health Center for clients with suicidal and homicidal thoughts. Brian’s clinical interests include, trauma, stress, depression, anxiety, social development skills, and enrichment. He believes everyone can improve their life if they develop the proper skills and know their next best step.  He looks forward to helping his clients become the best versions of themselves.
